Spa recirculation pump runs constantly and is LOUD.

as in title.....my spa recirc pump runs constantly. and is so loud vibrating the spa and the deck it sits on and I can actually hear it in side the house.

I cant sit in hot tub and even talk on the phone its so loud and annoying. had a tech come out and the recirc pump is mounted directly on floor of inside hot tub. no rubber base.

soft headrest in corners is breaking down and leaves a rubber residue on hot tub and my HEAD.

cant get a live body at phone number supplied. recording says call dealer. hmmmm bought directly from barefoot spa when they had a sale in memphis.

I would not recommend this spa to anyone.

Barefoot Spas Reply:
At BarefootSpas, we operate with a high-degree of integrity. We stand behind our products and our warranty. We are a manufacturer of hot tubs and swim spas. We are not a retailer. We do not sell directly to consumers – rather, our products are sold by authorized dealers. Our authorized dealers maintain relationships with their customers.

According to our records, Mrs. Kelly purchased her spa from Spa Blowout. BarefootSpas does not own or operate Spa Blowout. Spa Blowout does not own or operate BarefootSpas. It is a common misconception by consumers that the relationship between both companies is more than this. We offer our sincerest apologies to Mrs. Kelly for any confusion she experienced.

To answer Mrs. Kelly's questions:

1). The primary pump on the spa is designed to run constantly. This serves two functions - first, it circulates the water to maintain cleanliness; second, the spa traps the residual heat from the pump motor to maintain the water temperature, reducing the reliance on the heater, making the spa more energy efficient.

2). The spa is designed to run quietly. The pumps are mounted to the frame using dampeners. The bottom of the spa is lined with a thin layer of ABS plastic. The purpose of the ABS is purely cosmetic. We understand consumers will place their spas on raised surfaces. A byproduct of doing such is increased noise.

3). The vinyl on the headrests deteriorating is a sign of poor water chemistry. Somehow the water chemistry is imbalanced - typically because a consumer is using too much chlorine or bromine. As a result, chlorine and/or ammonia gases are being produced during the filtration cycles, which are melting the vinyl of the headrests. The headrests are not covered by the warranty. It is our recommendation to do one or both of the following: (a) remove the headrests between use and/or (b) open the cover every few days to release any gases trapped beneath the cover.

We hope you find this information useful.

Barefoot Spas Reply:
Hello Mr. Barbadaes,

Thank you for contacting us. The good news is that the spa is exhibiting normal behaviors. The pump that is controlled by the Jet1 button is your primary pump. This pump runs in low-speed mode continuously to circulate water. So long as the temperature of your hot tub water is less than three (3) degrees above the set temperature of the thermostat, the pump will continue to run. Similarly, the heater in your spa will run until your hot tub's water is one to two degrees above the set temperature on the thermostat. Example: Say you set your hot tub's thermostat to 100 degrees. The heater will stop operating when the hot tub water is between 101 and 102 degrees. Pump #1 will continue run until the hot tub water is at or above 103 degrees. Please note: Your spa has two pre-programmed filter cycles. These cycles start 12 hours apart and run for 2 hours per cycle. During this time, the heater and pumps turn on in order to clean/sanitize the spa, regardless of the temperature of the water. So it is possible for your hot tub's water temperature to continue to rise. In order to cool the spa, you have a few options:

1. Remove the cover and allow heat to escape from the surface of the water.
2. Remove one or more panels to allow heat to escape from within the cabinet.
3. Drain water and add new water to spa.

If your jets are lacking power, then your air valves are closed. The air valves are along the perimeter of your spa. They are black caps with tear drop shapes. Open and close these valves to allow the spa to pull in more or less air into the jets to increase or decrease pressure.

Lastly, we reached out to your dealer, Spa Blowout regarding your missing spa steps. They provided us with tracking number is 439000692947. According to FedEx, the steps were delivered to you on 9/28. https://www.fedex.com/apps/fedextrack/?tracknumbers=439000692947

I hope this information is helpful to you.

Help finding customer service

I purchased my Hot Tub at a trade show via Signature Productions (804-325-****).

The Signature Productions purchase agreement states "For any and all questions after the delivery please call the manufacturer for the brand of Hot Tub you Purchased".

The Customer Service number at Barefoot Spas (804-298-****) is useless in trying to find a Barefoot Spas service representative. A recorded message says "for customer service contact the dealer / distributor on your purchase agreement for assistance"

The Hot Tub was purchased in June of 2016. Consequently I believe it is still under warranty. The Hot Tub has developed a leak in one of the pipes thus I need a repair on my ML7 Spa.

How do I get service for my Spa ???

Barefoot Spas Reply:
Thank you for contacting us, Mr. Hamilton. We apologize for the confusion. We performed an audit of our records and found that you purchased your spa from Spa Blowout. The customer service number for Spa Blowout is (804) 325-8094. In the future, if you have any need for customer service or technical support, please contact Spa Blowout at the aforementioned phone number. As a courtesy to you, we contact Spa Blowout on your behalf and an agent of theirs will reach out to you tomorrow to discuss the leak in your spa.

We've had the same issue. Trying to get any service and anyone on the phone is a big joke. I emailed Barefoot and they forwarded it to SpaBlowout over a week later.

Ripped off

My wife and i paid over $3600 down on a hot tub in February 2018. It was supposed to be delivered in August but it was not.

We were told it would be delivered this week but now we cannot get anyone to answer their phone or return our calls.

This is not the way a legitimate business conducts itself. Beware

Barefoot Spas Reply:
Mr. and Mrs. Wolf, we appreciate you reaching out to us at Barefoot Spa’s. You must contact the dealer who you purchased the spa from to arrange delivery. We sent a note out to our dealers, and Spa Blowout let us know that you have received this spa already. We hope you enjoy your spa, and encourage you to reach out to Spa Blowout if you have any issues.

The hot tub is leaking inside and has shorted out everything. You can see by these pictures.

We have been calling you for a week everyday and have no answers or anyone to come out and look at it. We have only had this hot tub for a year and have done everything right with the chemicals and the up keep. This hot tub was expensive and I expect to get taken care of and barefoot spas to do the right thing.

I'm not sure I will trust this hot tub even if it can be fixed. My question to you is would you trust it to work right if it were yours and there was this must water in it and it has totally fired everything.

A Little Upset

Barefoot Spas - A Little Upset

We purchased a Barefoot Spa in 2015 at the local fairgrounds where this outfit set up shop for a weekend. Very pushy to sell and guarantee excellent customer service for any problems.

Now our pump is now leaking. Can't talk to anyone on the phone so we contacted them by email. During the sale they told us that all electric parts and plumbing are under warranty for 5 years. Come to find out by email that apparently the motor and/or pump are not....BUT they would be happy to sell us one!

Don't be fooled by this fly by night company and their deception of what is under warranty. Costing us $275.00 for our new pump and installing would be separate.

Have a $6,000.00 spa I can't use and was under the impression parts were warranted but some aren't. Don't buy a Barefoot Spa!

Barefoot Spas Reply:
Nadine, thanks for lettings us know. In this instance you did not purchase your spa directly from us, but instead from one of our authorized dealers. Per the warranty the parts are warrantied against Barefoot’s manufacturing defects. If the actual component breaks and it wasn’t due to improper installation then the manufacturer of the part warranty is used. In your case the pumps have a warranty of 3 years from the manufactured date, as they did not break due to our installation, they would be checked against the manufacturer. If your pumps fall outside the warrantied window, there is not much the dealer can do for you. In this case it sounds like they were trying to sell you the pumps at a discount to assist. Please contact your dealer as they will be the best resource to get your spa up and running again.

Poor Customer Service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I purchased a Barefoot Spa ML-7 from Spa Blowout last September. It worked great until May and then started shutting off with a heater code.

I finally got my work order sent to me July 2 after multiple calls and emails week after week. Now I have a leak from ozoneator. I sent their customer service an email a week ago about the problem and still have not heard anything back. I have finally called a hot tub

repair shop here in town and will fix it myself my time is far more valuable than trying to get a response from these people.

BUYER BEWARE SOMETIMES IF ITS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE IT PROBABLY IS.

PS I was told by the sales rep that there was a number of shops here in Colorado that would handle my claims if I had a problem. Instead I have to keep calling people on the east coast.

Barefoot Spas Reply:
Mr. Duran, unfortunately we at Barefoot did not sell you your spa. Your dealer in this instance is who you need to work with. Based on our conversation with Spa Blowout it sounds like they found this issue to be under warranty and are going to reimburse you for any issues you have paid to be repaired. We hope you continue to enjoy using your Barefoot Spa.

Was introduced to your product on April 28 2018 at the Kansas Expo Center in Topeka Kansas. Was impressed with your display and purchased one putting half down with promised free delivery and placement in 4to6 weeks.

Had no contact until I started calling with nothing but heartache and raised blood pressure. Different stories, a manager that argues with us over paying full price before we can receive the spa, even we were approved for financing prior. It is week 14 and we were promised that the spa was being crated and shipped out.

My questions are one we paid half the price up front for a product that you was showing in our city where you had several displays on hand but yet 14 weeks later you act like the ability to get it this far away from Virginia is a huge feat and that you’re almost doing us a favor somehow by doing it ? Then if there is a problem with your customers order why is it you don’t contact said customer.

Barefoot Spas Reply:
Mr. Moseley, thanks for reaching out to us. From the sounds of it you bought a spa from one of our dealers. Based on the location and dates, we checked with Spa Blowout and they have confirmed they are working diligently with you to get this resolved. Still waiting for cover and steps

My husband and I purchased a Barefoot Spa from a Spa Blowout show in Monroeville PA. Upon delivery-no cover no steps no chemicals.

Chemicals arrived in timely manner. Almost three weeks later. Still no cover or steps. We cannot use our spa without them.

We have small children around and will not fill it and leave it uncovered for them to fall in. We have tried several avenues to try to refolvevthis issue. Phone numbers given us are disconnected. Trying to reach the company impossible.

They take a message and no return call. My patience are wearing thin as now they have our money and we cannot yet use our spa

In this instance we show that your dealer has taken appropriate steps to rectify this immediately. We encourage you to let us know if the issue is not resolved.

Bad experience

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Purchased a $23,000 dollar swim pool through spa blowout. Had electricity hooked up.

Runs great. No manual with it. Called spa blowout and was told they cannot and will not provide a hard copy of manual for this elderly lady without internet. So it appears she has a pool she can’t operate.

This is not how you do business!!!!!!

I’ve called barefoot and nobody answered phones. Starting to look very shady

Poor warranty service

Barefoot Spas relies on distributors who will not respond to warranty claims. Spa Blowout will come to your local convention center, make the sale, then you will never be able to get in in contact with them again.

It is 9 months after my purchase and my PB8 unit keeps popping the breaker continually and the waterfall valve won't work (it comes apart under pressure when you turn it).

I have made 3 attempts to contact Spa Blowout and 2 attempts to contact Barefoot Spas and still no answer from either. Barefoot Spas voice mail directs you back to the distributor and the support links on their web site are broken/do not work.

Barefoot Spas Reply:
Mr. Kennedy, thank you for reaching out to us. We apologize for your recent issues and have notes that your dealer is actively working to solve this issue. If Spa Blowout continues to have trouble getting this looked at please let us know.

Repair under warranty

Warranty is bogus. You are on your own when something happens to spa.

They will have you take a zillion pictures and end up sending a repairman in your area and you pay for it. The repairman will call them with part that needs repaired and they will tell him they will get back to him as to if it is covered. They will not call him back while he is there which means if you do not have part replaced then you will have to pay for another service call.

Good old runaround. If you buy one of these spas be prepared to pay out of pocket for repairs.

WE WERE GIVEN INFORMATION STATEING "WARRANTED " 1 YEAR .

BAREFOOT SPA. Very dissatisfied coustomer , who would like to know WHY YOU HAVE SOMEONE REPRESENT YOUR COMPANY WITH UNETHICAL SERVICE ?

Barefoot Spas Reply:
Mr. Woehst, thanks for reaching out to us. We spoke with Spa Blowout about this case and would like to reiterate they cannot do anything unless you fill out the Warranty Pre Authorization form. The company has procedures in place that must be followed to get the spa serviced. Once you fill out the paperwork they will continue to assist you, but cannot move forward without it.

Jumping through hoops

I purchased my spa back in November 2017 at a convention expo and did not want it delivered until July because I was building a house. After I provided the proper paperwork (RX - doctor note and a tax exemption certification) that I was exempt from the pay the sales tax $495.00.

I was told by the salesman that this would not be a problem. I so expecting the same service that ever hot tub company offices in the Dallas Metroplex and that the taxes would be removed and then would take care of the paperwork. ( in other words CUSTOMER SERVICE)

It's July 2018 I am ready for my spa and ready to pay the balance. So now Spa Blowout are telling me I have to pay the taxes and for me to contact the COMPTROLLER OF TEXAS. texas code 3.284 states what I have to do to get the $495.00 back.

And now I am going have to hire someone to do the paperwork

and hold my breath to see if I will ever see $495.00

This is the email I received from SPA BLOWOUT

In order to be exempt from taxes, you need the following documents: a prescription, a signed statement on letterhead, and an exemption certificate. In order to obtain a certificate, you need to contact the Comptroller of Texas. These documents must be presented to us at the time of sale otherwise we must collect sales tax. If the documents are presented afterward, you can get the sales tax reimbursed by submitting the necessary documents along with your purchase agreement to the Comptroller of Texas. The Comptroller will provide you with a form to provide to us, which we will fill out and return to you. You return that form to the Comptroller and they will reimburse you the sales tax you paid for the purchase of your hot tub. See the information below. I hope this information is helpful to you:

Texas Code 3.284 states: (11) Sales or use tax is not due on the sale, lease, or rental of therapeutic appliances, devices, and related supplies specifically designed for those products when sold, leased, or rented to individuals under a prescription of a licensed practitioner of the healing arts. (B) A hot tub, spa, or similar appliance qualifies as a therapeutic appliance when prescribed for the purchaser by a licensed practitioner of the healing arts. The patient must provide the seller of the hot tub, spa, or similar appliance with a prescription, an exemption certificate, and a signed statement on letterhead from the licensed practitioner. The signed statement should specify the medical requirements for the hot tub, spa, or similar appliance.

Thanks for writing us Mr. Miller. Unfortunately you did not purchase the spa directly from us. Based on your comments though it sounds like the dealer(Spa Blowout) is correct. They cannot just withhold sales tax because you say your tax exempt. If that paperwork is not present at the time of sale they MUST collect the sales tax as it is illegal to not pay it. You do not need to hire anyone to fill out paperwork, just call your local comptroller and they will send you the document that you need to sign and they will request you send it to Spa Blowout to fill out a portion as well. We hope you are able to get this resolved.
